Overview
ShowTec UpNext Lamb 16 BT is ADM’s higher-fat grower/finisher option in the ShowTec lamb base feed line. At 16% protein and 4% fat (versus 2.5% in the 18 Elite), it delivers more energy density and is positioned for condition building and smooth finish. The RumeNext® ingredient optimizes rumen fermentation. Like all ShowTec lamb feeds, it includes ammonium chloride for urinary calculi prevention in males. Medicated with Bovatec (lasalocid).

How Experienced Feeders Actually Use It
The higher fat content (4% vs. 2.5%) makes UpNext Lamb a natural choice for lambs that need condition early in the program or that are running thin and need an energy boost alongside their protein. Some feeders prefer the 18 Elite for maximum growth and switch to UpNext when they want to add condition without continuing to push muscle gain.
Real-World Feeding Rate
- Typical rate: 1–4⅔ lb/day depending on body weight; split feeding
- Introduction timeline: Can be used from early in the program through the finishing phase
