TX T (Texas Tea)

Liquid daily vitamin/mineral/yeast supplement — molasses-based energy and micronutrient support with high zinc/selenium/manganese; palatability makes it useful for reluctant drinkers

Always read and follow product labels for feeding and sheep safety.

Overview

TX T (Texas Tea) is a molasses-based liquid supplement delivering vitamins A/D/E, yeast culture, chelated zinc and manganese, selenium, and magnesium in a palatable liquid format. At 10–15cc twice daily for sheep, it is a low-volume, high-density supplement — just 20–30cc total per day delivers meaningful mineral and vitamin fortification. The cane molasses, fermented corn extractives, and glycerol base make it highly palatable, which is specifically useful for sheep reluctant to eat dry minerals or supplements. No copper in the ingredient list or guaranteed analysis — confirmed safe for sheep. Sold in 1-gallon jugs.

Official Feeding Rate

  • Sheep & Goats: 10–15cc twice daily (20–30cc total per day)
  • Cattle: 4–6 oz twice daily
  • Pigs: 15–30cc twice daily
  • Note: Do not exceed recommended rate

Notable Values

  • Zinc at 5,200 ppm is very high — but at 20–30cc/day (~0.04–0.06 lbs), the actual zinc delivered is approximately 10–14 mg/day, within a normal supplementation range
  • Selenium at 24 ppm — at 20–30cc/day, delivers approximately 0.5–0.7 mg selenium/day; within safe range for sheep (NRC requirement ~0.1–0.2 mg/day; toxicity begins above 2–3 mg/day)
  • Vitamin A at 3,000,000 IU/lb — at 20–30cc/day (~0.04–0.06 lbs), delivers ~120,000–180,000 IU/day; HIGH — verify this is within safe range for show lambs fed long-term

Sheep Safety

Copper: Not present in ingredients or guaranteed analysis. Confirmed safe for sheep — no copper toxicity risk.

Selenium: 24 ppm in the product. At the 20–30cc/day sheep rate, selenium delivery is approximately 0.5–0.7 mg/day. This is above the NRC requirement but well below the toxicity threshold (2–3 mg/day for sheep). Acceptable but note in the context of total diet selenium — if the base feed also provides significant selenium, total should still be within safe range.

Vitamin A: The 3,000,000 IU/lb concentration is very high, but the low volume feeding rate (20–30cc/day) limits daily intake to approximately 120,000–180,000 IU/day. Flag for veterinary verification for long-term (12-week) show programs.

How Experienced Feeders Actually Use It

TX T is the liquid supplement in the SSS daily stack — specifically positioned as a vitamin/mineral/yeast drench that sheep accept readily due to the molasses base. It is typically mixed with water or drenched directly. In programs where lambs are reluctant to eat dry mineral mixes, TX T fills the micronutrient gap in a form the animal readily accepts. Stacked with Ante Up (dry mineral), Gold Dust (probiotic/protein), and Gut Candy for a complete SSS program.

Phase Protocols

All Phases | Daily Vitamin/Mineral Support

  • Rate: 10–15cc twice daily (morning and evening), drenched or mixed into water
  • Purpose: Sustained vitamin and chelated mineral delivery throughout the entire show program

Stacking Protocols

TX T + Ante Up: Complementary daily mineral stack — TX T delivers liquid vitamins and chelated zinc/selenium/manganese; Ante Up delivers the complete sheep-specific mineral package. No duplication concerns with copper since TX T has no copper.

TX T + Gold Dust: Standard SSS show lamb daily stack. TX T covers vitamins and minerals; Gold Dust covers probiotic and protein support.
