Show Lamb Breeze 45DQ

High-protein (20%) medicated texturized starter/grower ration — used for early-phase show lambs, creep feeding, and as a conditioner when extra gain and bloom are needed; copper-free with molybdate

Always read and follow the product label for feeding directions and copper safety before feeding to sheep.

Overview

Show Lamb Breeze 45DQ is Kent’s starter and conditioning ration — a 20% protein texturized feed designed for early-phase lambs, creep feeding, and situations where extra bloom and gain are needed. The higher protein level compared to the Gale Force feeds (20% vs 18%) makes it the early-growth tool in the Kent show lamb lineup. The “45DQ” designation refers to 45 mg decoquinate per pound (higher coccidiostat concentration). Includes NutriVantage and ShowBloom technology, ammonium chloride, copper-free formula with molybdate.

How Experienced Feeders Actually Use It

Used as the early-program starter when lambs are first brought onto full feed. Higher protein (20%) and higher vitamin levels make it the right tool for early growth and establishment. Some feeders also return to Breeze 45DQ late in the program when they need a bloom “boost” without switching to pure supplements — using it as a conditioner feed at the end.

Real-World Feeding Rate

  • Typical rate: 0.1 lb per 10 lb body weight; lighter rate than Gale Force
  • Introduction timeline: Project start (preweaning, early postweaning)

Common Deviations from Label

No deviations found. Some feeders blend Breeze 45DQ with Gale Force 18DQ as lambs grow through the starter phase.

Phase Protocols

Weeks 12–9 | Foundation Phase

Primary use window for recently started show lambs. Start feed here and transition to Gale Force 18DQ as lambs grow and protein needs shift.

Weeks 8–6 | Condition Building Phase

Can continue or be used as a bloom conditioner for lambs that need extra protein work early.

Stacking Protocols

Pairs with ShowBoss Biomend for gut health foundation during the critical early-program period when lambs are most vulnerable to digestive stress.

Budget Alternatives
